Terms of Service
Effective date: October 20, 2026 · Version 1.0
1. Parties and acceptance
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of Krew Guru at https://krew.guru, including its web pages, emails and other interfaces (the “Service”). The Service is operated by MOCWW Inc., a Delaware corporation, 251 Little Falls Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808, USA (“MOCWW Inc.”, “Krew Guru”, “we”, “us”).
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
- The Service has seafarer accounts and company accounts (shipowners, ship managers, crewing agencies and their representatives). If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorized to act for it, and the company is bound by these Terms.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your email inbox, sign-in codes and sign-in links secure. Do not share your account with other people.
2. What Krew Guru is and what it is not
- Krew Guru is an online platform where seafarers create CVs and find vacancies, and companies publish vacancies and find seafarers.
- Krew Guru is not a crewing or manning agency and is not a party to any employment agreement between a seafarer and a company. Krew Guru does not guarantee employment, interviews, replies from companies or applications from seafarers.
- The Service is free for seafarers. Krew Guru does not charge seafarers any fees for recruitment or placement, in line with MLC 2006 Regulation 1.4. The Service is currently free for companies as well.
- Vacancies are published by companies or by Krew Guru on behalf of companies, based on information provided by them or publicly available. Krew Guru does not guarantee that any vacancy is accurate, current or still open.
- A seafarer may apply to a vacancy without creating an account (quick apply). Applications, CVs and contact details are delivered to the company that published the vacancy, including by email.
3. Terms for companies (employers)
This section applies to company accounts and to everyone who publishes vacancies or uses seafarer data on behalf of a company. It is part of these Terms.
3.1. No fees from seafarers
You must not charge seafarers, directly or through third parties, any fees for recruitment, placement or employment found through the Service.
3.2. Real and current vacancies
- Publish only real vacancies that you intend to fill, with true information about your company, the vessel, the position, the wages and the contract.
- Keep vacancies up to date and close them when they are filled.
- Do not publish vacancies for unlawful purposes, fraudulent or misleading offers, advertising of franchises, pyramid or network marketing schemes, training courses or other paid services, and do not place advertising in your company description or in messages to seafarers.
3.3. Seafarer contact details
- A company account may open a seafarer’s contact details free of charge. Each opening is recorded. Krew Guru decides which company accounts may open contacts.
- Openings are limited per company per day (currently 100 new contacts a day). Krew Guru may change this limit at any time.
- A seafarer’s contact details are also available to a company after the seafarer applies to one of its vacancies.
- Use seafarer CVs, contact details and other data only to consider the seafarer for employment in vacancies you recruit for.
- Do not sell, rent, share, publish or resell seafarer data or any part of the seafarer database, do not copy it into other databases, websites or services, do not offer seafarers to publish their data on such services, and do not use seafarer data for advertising, marketing or spam.
3.4. Company registration
- Use the real name of your company and real names of your representatives. One company account per company; several legal entities, including affiliated ones, may not share one company account.
- Krew Guru may request information or documents to confirm your company details, and may refuse, suspend, restrict or delete a company account at its discretion, including after complaints from seafarers about the use of their data.
- You are responsible for the information you provide for publication and for how you use seafarer data, and you will reimburse MOCWW Inc. for any claims, fines and costs caused by it (see section 8).
3.5. No guarantees about seafarers
Krew Guru does not guarantee that information provided by seafarers is true or complete, that any seafarer is suitable for your vacancy, or that a vacancy will receive any applications.
4. Your content
- You are responsible for the content you upload or enter, including your CV, documents, photos and vacancies. A seafarer is responsible for the accuracy of his or her CV.
- Upload only your own CV and documents and your own contact details, and only content you have the right to share.
- You grant MOCWW Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, process (including by automated means and AI), adapt, display and transmit your content in order to operate, provide and improve the Service, including sending seafarer CVs and contact details to companies. Your personal data is also subject to the Privacy Policy.
- When you upload a CV file, the Service uses automated tools, including AI, to read it and prepare a draft profile. The draft may contain errors. You must review it and correct it; you are responsible for the information in your profile.
- Krew Guru may remove or edit content that violates these Terms or that Krew Guru considers inappropriate for the Service.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- scrape, crawl or bulk download or extract data from the Service, except through public interfaces that Krew Guru provides for that purpose and within their limits;
- bypass or try to bypass rate limits, daily limits, access restrictions or other technical protections of the Service, including by using several accounts;
- upload CVs or documents of other people, or register or apply with an email address that is not yours;
- send spam, publish fraudulent or misleading vacancies, or ask seafarers for payments;
- access data that is not intended for you, test the vulnerability of the Service, or interfere with its operation;
- post unlawful, threatening, offensive, defamatory or knowingly false content.
AI agents and other automated assistants may act on behalf of a user through the public interfaces that Krew Guru provides, within the same limits that apply to people. The user is responsible for the actions of an agent acting on his or her behalf.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including the Krew Guru name and logo, design, software, the vessel database, reference data (ranks, vessel types and other directories) and the compilation of data on the Service, belongs to MOCWW Inc. or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any of these rights to you. You may not copy, extract or reuse the Service’s databases or substantial parts of them except as these Terms allow. Your content remains yours, subject to the license in section 4.
7. Reporting violations and copyright complaints
If you believe that content on the Service infringes your copyright or other rights, or violates these Terms, write to support@krew.guru and include:
- your name and contact details;
- a description of the work or right that you believe is infringed;
- the link to the content on the Service;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized, and that the information in your notice is accurate and you are the rights holder or authorized to act for the rights holder.
We review notices and may remove or disable access to the content and notify the user who posted it. That user may reply to support@krew.guru with an explanation. We may delete the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.
8. Disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability and indemnification
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOCWW INC. DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that information provided by users (CVs, vacancies, company details) is accurate, or that users are who they claim to be. Krew Guru is not responsible for dealings between seafarers and companies.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MOCWW INC. AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, EARNINGS, EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS. THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF MOCWW INC. FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF US$100 AND THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO MOCWW INC. FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless MOCWW Inc. and its officers, directors, employees and agents from any claims, damages, losses, fines and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms or of the rights of others, and, for companies, your vacancies and your dealings with seafarers.
9. Termination
- You may stop using the Service at any time. A seafarer may delete his or her account in the account settings. Any user may request deletion of an account by writing to support@krew.guru.
- We may suspend, restrict or delete any account and remove any content at any time, with or without notice, if we believe that these Terms have been violated or to protect users or the Service.
- Information already delivered to companies (for example, CVs sent with applications) is not recalled when an account is deleted.
- Sections 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 continue to apply after your use of the Service ends.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively by the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms by publishing a new version on this page with a new version number and effective date. The new version applies from its effective date. If you continue to use the Service after that date, you accept the new version.
12. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and MOCWW Inc. about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; MOCWW Inc. may transfer its rights and obligations to another entity.
